"We were a little confused about the number of bedrooms, listing details said two bedrooms. There was only the one seperate bedroom with a double bed and a travel cot. The Sofa bed was in the lounge area. It was not a problem for us but could be if you really need two seperate bedrooms. It was lovely and clean throughout and the front terrace was a lovely sunny spot all day! Our host, Fred was lovely, very discreet but available if we needed anything."

I loved the location as it was an easy walk to the cathedral and the market held in that part of town; there are restaurants, cafes, and boutique shops near the cathedral; an easy walk to the Intermarché for my supplies; an even easier walk to a wonderful patisserie/boulangerie (try the croissant for sure, the best I have had in a long time). "We thought this place was wonderful. The living/dining room was well appointed and the kitchen had everything we needed. There is a balcony looking over the ruins of the nunnery and the town. Bed and bath were very nice, and I appreciated the washer. Caroline was helpful, and brought peaches from her garden: delicious. One caveat: 2nd floor means "climb 2 long flights of stairs"."

"We throughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful gite. Alun & Sandra gave us a very warm and friendly welcome, and were perfect hosts. We really enjoyed their company. The location was just perfect as we were seeking tranquility and relaxation. The local town of Brantome is only a 10min drive away, and it is a beautiful town.
