「I used to stay at this hotel monthly. I have since moved to the area and now when my family come to visit they stay here. The elevator never works which is really inconvenient trying to get kids up and down from the top floor several times a day. I am not sure why they would even use the rooms on the top floors knowing the elevator doesn't work or is on the brink of not working. Other than that breakfast is great. The staff is great. It's just the elevators! 」

「Stayed at the Microtel in Jacksonville, NC from April 9–12, 2026, and it was easily one of the most frustrating hotel stays I’ve had. Right at check-in, I was hit with a $50 “room key” deposit that was never mentioned anywhere during booking. There was no clear explanation—just an expectation to pay it. Hidden or poorly explained charges like this feel deceptive and set the tone immediately. The front desk experience made things worse. The receptionist was noticeably rude, slammed the credit...

「Great location, close to beach, within 2miles to the public beach access. However, by the roadside, it is noisy in the morning. Suggest you choose the rooms the other side of the road if possible」

「In my room, the large burner on the stove top did not work really limited my ability to cook. The ice machine did not work. All the plugs on the kitchen wall did not work. The tub area on the outside had mold on it. They do not advertise that they’re gonna charge for your pet to stay in the hotel so they hit me with a charge of $100 for my cat to stay for seven days. And the added bonus if you went out past 9 o’clock at night or all the prostitutes milling about the hotel, looking for customers...

「Great room set up. Bathroom was large, kitchen was well appointed with small fridge with freezer, sink, large cupboards, bed was comfy. It was very quiet on the back side. Unfortunately the people above made a racket all night one night. Very impressed with the place for the price.」

「Parking is safe and easy they do require. If you have more than vehicle they ask your license plate numbers and require ids for all adults in room who have vehicle that will be parked there.」
