"This resort could be fantastic—especially if it’s quiet. The facilities are great and very family-friendly, and the pool area is a big highlight for kids. However, the biggest issue we ran into was noise. You can hear even small sounds from the unit above—things like opening kitchen drawers or flushing the toilet. Unfortunately, we had kids staying above us, which made it particularly noisy throughout the day and early mornings. The pool itself is fun, but maintenance seemed inconsistent. As the day went on, garbage would build up around the pool area, including things like beer cans, and the bathrooms had toilet paper scattered around. Towels also ran out on a couple of the days we were there, which was frustrating with young kids. Housekeeping was another challenge. We were told it would happen every other day, but it didn’t occur until five nights into our stay—and only after I followed up multiple times. We even left the room on a few occasions expecting it to be cleaned, only to return and find it hadn’t been done. Overall, there’s a lot of potential here. The resort has great amenities and could be excellent with better upkeep and staffing. But between the noise transfer in the units and the inconsistent service, it didn’t fully meet expectations for us."

"The room appeared clean at first glance but we started to notice things along the way. In general, it’s good practice to sanitize the surfaces and the bathroom, and wash any dishes. There was hair in the tub and on the sink. The dishes had appeared to be used and not washed. One of the comforters had these pink spots like juice or cough syrup or something got splashed on it. Many of the surfaces were not wiped down. You could see cup rings and there was also a sticky spot here and there. The property itself was ok but budget level with a high end face. If you told me this was a budget hotel, I’d have given higher marks. It was however, conveniently located in downtown Monterey and had onsite parking. We stayed in the building across from it so it was a little schlep. I did not see any of those rolling luggage carriers. We unfortunately had a neighbor with a loud yappy dog. It barked all freakin night; not straight through but intermittently. So it would bark and wake us up, then it would be quiet and we could fall asleep, then bark again. It started around 9:30p and went on like this until about 1a. The staff did nothing. They said they sent security up but security never did. We waited for them. I had the barking on recording to show them. The two room conjoin if needed so we heard it through the door in our room. Overall staff were nice enough but seemed disinterested in helping us and felt we couldn’t ask so we just figured it out ourselves. "

"Very average hotel. Only stay here for convenience nothing more.i asked if they do anything for birthdays, I’ll even pay for a champagne bottle lady at the desk said “no nothing for birthdays” .. very clean hotel that’s about it. "

"The location and the island is perfect"

"I arrived on a Friday at 5 PM, but my room wasn’t ready until 6:30 PM. After a long drive, I was already quite tired, so the delay was disappointing. That said, the staff handled the situation exceptionally well, they offered a complimentary drink and upgraded my room, which I really appreciated. I’m not sure what caused the delay behind the scenes, but despite that inconvenience, the front desk team was outstanding and the room itself was very comfortable. It was a quick stay as I had to catch a flight early the next day. "

"The shower was like being sandblasted. It was so strong. And there was no way to make it weaker. But the food in the restaurant was healthy and excellent."
