This place is all about expectations. This is a hostel, with many guests coming and going. Rates are low, so don’t expect a hotel level experience. This is a good quality hostel. If the location is convenient, and you have a limited budget, this is a good option. But this is not a vacation/ relaxation spot. It is a bed for a good price. The Wi-Fi is good, and a big bonus. Things are generally clean, but not spotless by any means. But the staff are pleasant, and are clearly working hard to keep up with the constant turnover of guests. They could use a few more staff to help with cleaning, but I’m sure that keeping rates low for guests prevents hiring more staff. The other guests were respectful and pleasant. I stayed in a mixed dorm as a woman, and as far as I could tell, it was mostly men there. However I felt safe. However not all the bunks were full. If the room had been completely full I think it would have been intimidating with so many men. And smelly. It was the height of summer during my stay and too hot to sleep with the curtain closed at night. There is a female room, but that was booked when I reserved my bunk. Breakfast is cereal and fruit. And coffee. The location is convenient. Check in and check out were simple. And the rates are low. I was staying on the same block as the job I had for the week, so it was perfect. There is an excellent coffee shop with Wi-Fi just around the corner.
Okay for solo traveler staying one or two nights. They allow you to keep lugguges for extended period of time after check-out, a bonus.

It was my first experience in a hospital. Overall, the staff was very accommodating for me because I need a bottom bunk because of a fractured leg. Being my first experience, not sure how to read the best but the cleanliness everything was there would definitely stay there again.

Good place for a short stay. Comfortable beds. Wrong bunk assignment and the breakfast is halfassed (cereals but no milk or juice).
People are respectful of privacy and are welcoming. The breakfast was very appreciated, the lounge was relaxing as one plans for their day, and felt safe during my stay not just at the hotel, but in LA in general. Good amount of amenities and showers were very nice.
I stayed for six nights and my experience was average. I definitely preferred the Freeland hostel.
Pros-Staff/service were exceptional, the bedding and sheets were clean and very comfortable, and I loved the check in process. Easy quick and self check in was definitely my favorite. It was very peaceful at night time and there was music playing here and there.
Cons-Zero events/gathering, cost was SUPER expensive compared to other hostels with more amenities, it wasn’t close to the city, Breakfast was appreciated but the hostel didn’t have vegan milk for the cereal (limited breakfast), I stayed in the flamingo room and the girls that stayed in my room were allowed, and there was a problem with the door knob during the day, multiple people were sick throughout my stay which made it feel unsafe, especially since I’m traveling full-time. All in all, it was a great place to sleep for one or two nights, but not for a whole week. I would have loved to meet travelers from across the world, but it was mainly young students living there permanently that worked there.

Parking was difficult. First time at a hostel in my life. The floors were creaky, and the only way to get in is through stairs, so be prepared to climb. No elevator. It was really cute and the employee was nice. The thing I would want them to really work on is cleanliness. The sheets and pillow I slept in had stains and was a little dirty with whoever was sleeping’s hair. The bathrooms should have been cleaned more often. Also it smelled really musty and I had a hard time falling asleep because of the smell. I also wish they split it based on gender identity versus mixing it or have an option for separate because I don’t like sleeping in the same room as guys or sharing the same bathroom because I think guys are gross
Extremely Disappointed — Unreliable and Unreachable
I booked this place specifically because it stated clearly that check-in was available until 2AM. I tried calling them at 11PM to confirm my arrival—no answer. When I arrived around 12:40AM, I rang the doorbell multiple times and called again several times—still no response at all.
I ended up standing outside in the dark for almost 20 minutes, completely alone, with no way to get in or contact anyone. In the end, I had to leave and find another place to stay in the middle of the night, which was stressful, unsafe, and incredibly frustrating.
If you’re not actually going to provide late check-in service, then don’t advertise it. This was a huge inconvenience and completely unacceptable.
Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for reliability or basic communication.
Cramped, run-down hostel in an area with a lot of homeless people. Hostel looks clean in photos but it's not. Dirty common areas and showers (the place needs deep cleaning). Comfortable but smelly sofas. Wifi was okay. Mixed dorm with the curtains has dirty beds & isn't "premium" as advertised. Breakfast was sugary cereal and apples. Stephanie was helpful & pleasant for the most part, but I received poor service from the Asian guy who also works there.
