"What amazing views, luckily weather was good when we arrived so we were able to sit outside with a drink. Dinner was superb, especially the Ox steak."

"Really attractive and nicely furnished converted old building. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was just about perfect. Garai is a lovely village and has two magnificent restaurants within a 10 minute walk, ideal for the tasting menu with accompanying wines. A little fitness is needed as the walk up to the hotel from the car park is quite strenuous and there are a few flights of stairs if you are in one of the upper rooms. "Found this hotel as a stop on the way from Spain to France .Friendly welcome, the restaurants was busy and really good value. Our waitress was a real card and humorous with it. "One of the most beautiful hotels I've ever walked into, the lobby and bar area was gorgeous and a great place for a nightcap as the day winds down. We were greeted by the staff upon check-in, and they were so friendly and took the time to show us the spots to hit around Bilbao. From there, each experience we had with the staff was splendid, helpful in reserving a taxi for an early morning flight, getting us wine at the bar, etc. Easily the most helpful and friendly staff I've experienced at a hotel in years. The rooms were not huge, but had a nice couch area beside the bed. Sink was outside of the bathroom and the bathroom was tight but not too small. If you are looking to explore old town, this is a perfect place to stay, we can't wait to stay here again in the future. "

"This is nestled in the old town and it’s very beautiful. You are right near a cathedral and it was visible from our room. Very walkable and there are delicious food options in the neighbourhood. Then best bocadillos/sandwich is right across the street. The bread, ham and cheese were the perfect blend and so fresh. It is called Viandas. "
