"Great budget hotel near the JR station. Checked in and out using the kiosks. Rooms are small, but easily accommodated 3. There's a connected 7-11. There was an unexpected city tax (200 yen a night I think?), but maybe it was stated and I don't see it. Overall a good choice if you're on a budget and will be spending a lot of time outside."

"Good location for Kyoto station and for other buses and trains that go to certain tourist sites. Room was a good size, breakfast was high quality although the restaurant was not available without a 'group booking'. Self service laundry was very useful also. "

"First, the hotel was clean and the rooms were very spacious. The staff were also courteous and helpful. The breakfast buffet is not included in the room rate but was affordable and delicious. Furthermore, the private spa was AMAZING and a great way to unwind after a long day of exploring. Additionally, the hotel is right above a train station which is immensely convenient. It’s also one stop from Kyoto station. They also have bikes guests can rent for sightseeing. Overall, this was the best place we stayed during our Japan Trip. Will definitely rebook next time we’re in Kyoto. "

"They offered free shuttle service to the nearest JR stations. Nice quiet area for a hot spring vacation. Breakfast and dinner were included in our package, and the food was fabulous and very authentic. It was my second time returning Yumotokan, and everything had been maintained up to standard or even better. Highly recommended!"
