"The hotel was excellent, beautiful maintained and functioned like a well oiled machine. The room was first class and super comfortable, definitely the most comfortable bed I have slept in during my stay in Japan! Unfortunately they was one incident that I felt let them down and was certainly not expected from an organisation as polished as this. I made a mistake with my booking, I called the front desk, from outside the hotel, in the hope of getting someone to help me. When the call was answered, I asked if English was spoken, the Lady on the line made a response and then put me through to another Lady, when I asked if she spoke English, she just hung up on me, we did not get cut off. This was very disappointing and resulted in me having to travel across Kyoto to appear at reception in person, very inconvenient. I would have expected better from such a high hotel."

"This was my second time staying at this hotel and it won’t be my last! The property is easy to get to from Kyoto station, the staff are all so friendly and professional, the amenities are great, rooms are clean and comfortable. The onsen is one of my favorite things about staying here. The breakfast is excellent too!"

"This place was fantastic, we stayed during Silver Week, which meant the hotel was full, however we never once felt crowded. The only thing lacking was a laundry service, however there is a laundromat 600m away. The closeness to the station which is only one stop from Kyoto was really convenient. Looking forward to coming back."

"room fine bathroom a bit dated as is the rest of the hotel. overall good location right on lake all rooms have view of lake pool is free for resident but very over clorinated which gave us all bad rashes. so only used once which was a sham as reason we stayed there. station close and hotel has shuttle bus to station 3 times an hour which was good over all hotel ok probably not to my taste but very popular with locals we were only english there and a good place to stay away from hustle and bustle of kyoto but easy access as only two stops on train. stayed there 20 years ago and it hadn’t changed since then"

"It was a nice little Place for what I needed. I spent most of the time traveling around but it was good for a place to sleep and shower. The breakfast was good early in the morning and they do offer Dinner too but I did not take advantage because of the good food in Japan."
