"I was disappointed with the poor service at the buffet. It’s not about the food. The service staff were not welcoming at all. I paid for half board. The first night of the buffet, we had two cokes besides our normal food. While we were about to leave, the head waiter very loudly that all can hear, called us and said we need to pay for the cokes we consumed. I try to apologize to him. But, he turned away from us. That is vey insulting. For 1200/- you would embarrass us like that in front of all of the guest and staff. From that time forward we did not go to the already buffet at all. I had very high hopes for this hotel, since this is one of the oldest and renowned hotel in Colombo. But, the service staff need more coaching in customer engagement and it needs to start from top down. You lost two customers."

The surrounding area is rich in historical and cultural landmarks, and—if you enjoy photography—it also offers a vibrant, authentic local atmosphere. The hotel features comprehensive amenities, and the service is attentive and thoughtful. Furthermore, they allowed me to store my luggage, which made it easy for me to travel to other cities. Overall, it is a hotel that offers great value for money."

"The staff at this hotel are exceptional; I've never encountered such helpful service during my travels through over 30 countries. They go above and beyond to assist. When I booked a car and the driver was delayed, the staff quickly ordered another one through their phone and guided the driver exactly where to go. Despite being a little late for our intercity train, their support was outstanding—they even texted me to confirm I boarded the train. I didn’t miss it. That’s how caring they are. They are truly some of the best staff in the world.😍😍"
