Top Old Chinese City Hotel Reviews

Shanghai Elong Hotel by the Nanjing Road

10/10 Excellent

"Location of hotel is excellent. It is just off Nanjing East Road. Metro train line is just a few minutes away and it is about 15-20 minutes from the hotel to the Bund. Airport transport to and fro the hotel is 250Yuan each way and the journey is around 40mins."

Green Court Residence City Center Shanghai People's Square

8/10 Good

"The rooms are much bigger than I anticipated. Kitchen area is spacious, so is closet, bedroom, and bathroom. There’s a lovely bidet toilet and a shower with bath. There is a hotel restaurant with great picks and a vending machine, as well as delivery boxes (you need a Chinese phone number to order delivery in China and at some food places.) The one drawback was the gym. Pretty slim pickings if you are into weight and strength training like me. English treadmill though, so that was good. I would definitely stay here again."

Crowne Plaza Shanghai Nanjing Road by IHG

8/10 Good

"Everything was mainly good however there were a few cracked tiles in the bathroom along with poor waterproofing. The lobby toilets were extremely disappointing as they were available to anyone off the street. The swimming pool and gym were very good. Housekeeping was excellent."

Renaissance Shanghai Yu Garden Hotel on the Bund by Nanjing Road

8/10 Good

"Good location direction outside the exit of yu garden metro and easy walking distance to yu garden shops and restaurants. The area around is under a bit of development. Note lobby is on level 3. Hotel breakfast was fantastic with great Chinese and western buffet options. Good size room and comfy bed. Good bar to meet and do some work. Gym a little small and tired."
