「Best place we stayed in all of Japan. It's actually nicer than the pictures portray if you can believe it. Location is the only slight downside as you mostly will end up taking taxis everywhere other than the Heian shrine. Must comfortable beds and blankets, pillows we had as well. If you're cooking at all the kitchen is amazing. Wish I had used the meditation room but only discovered at at the end.」

「Gorgeous, charming house in a cute neighborhood. Perfect mix of traditional Japanese and Western amenities. Fairly close (but hilly) walk to many Kyoto sites and amenities. The perfect place for a small group to have a cozy, relaxing stay in Kyoto. I'd love to stay here again!」

「This is a beautiful property that is well managed and immaculately clean. The location is excellent – a 20 minute walk from Gion and 15 minutes to Kiyomiza-dera. It was built in a traditional Japanese Zen style but is updated with modern conveniences. There is a real sense of place and character. Communication with the manager was prompt and clear. The neighborhood was quiet. This is a reasonably priced location for all it offers, and we would not hesitate to return.」
