Gion Jizo - Comfortable house in great area

This lovely vacation rental in Kyoto is ideal for a young couple, friends or family looking for a modern Japanese house in the most prestigious district of the city, Gion.



Description of the house



Entering off a main street, down a Kyoto-style alley, a Buddhist Jizo statue awaits you in front of the house. Entering Gion Jizo, the ground floor consists of a relaxing open space, two single beds, desk, bathtub and a shower with a garden view, and restroom.



The upstairs has a kitchen, stylish library, sofa bed, futons, television and balcony. From cooking meals to enjoying a relaxing time in Kyoto, Gion Jizo house is a great stay.



The neighborhood



Gion is the oldest best preserved example of traditional Kyoto architecture. Our typically Kyotoite house is located 200 yards from the famous Hanamikoji street, which crosses Gion. This street is bordered with restaurants, accessories shops, craft shops, ochaya shops (tea houses). Spirituality is also two steps away from the house, in the enclosure of Kuenning Temple where the Zen Buddhism is practiced.

Cozy stay in perfect location

We had a wonderful time staying in this property. It was quiet and super close to (in my opinion) the best area in Kyoto. Claire was always quick to respond with any questions and it was exactly like the discription. Would definitly stay again

Perfect Location

Very cute place and very clean and tidy. The location was perfect. Just a couple of blocks from Gion district. Communication was very easy with the property manager, Claire. She gave clear directions and was prompt at answering any questions I had. Thank you!

A jewel in Kyoto

We loved this two story home. It was tucked back in an alley and very quiet and private, yet very close to many things! Really a great location. Claire, our house manager, was very friendly and helpful although we didn’t have the opportunity to meet. Instructions to get there were clear. Everything was very clean. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Great location and nice space for 4

The location is wonderful. It was so easy to walk so many places from Gion, to a bus stop, the subway station and the modern covered shopping area. Plenty of restaurants and even temples nearby. My husband and I stayed her with our 2 children (18 and 21). The stairs are a bit steep to the upstairs area and the only bathroom is downstairs. The kitchen is upstairs. We had stayed in small hotel rooms until this point and it was nice to have a bit more space. There is a washer and 4 room air conditioners and a really nice bath/shower with a jetted tub. Once we got the hang of the amenities we really enjoyed this property.
