"They should warn you that the phone service there is bad and you need your phone to check in and get the code to open the door. They do have wifi so when you are standing next to the room you can sign into their wifi so you need the password. Luckily there was a person cleaning rooms and she who helped us get a hold of someone. Other than that, it was a very nice room walking distance to the only restaurant in town."

The Creek House in the heart of gold country

The Creek House in the heart of gold country

10/10 Excellent
"We had a wonderful stay at the creek house. The property is situated on a large, private lot, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. We especially loved the creek running through the property, it added so much charm and made the setting feel peaceful and secluded. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed, and there was more than enough space for our group of eight to spread out comfortably. The location was also ideal for spending time at Lake Collins, with easy access while still feeling like a quiet retreat. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to book this property again. Highly recommended!"

100 acres of Private Forest & Creek Waterfalls, 15-Miles of Trails

10/10 Excellent
"We had a wonderful stay celebrating my husband's 80th birthday. It was a cozy, woodsy retreat, but still not too far from Nevada City. We had plenty of space and rooms, it was very clean and comfortable. The host was amazing and easy to communicate with throughout the process. I highly recommend this location. Plenty of outdoor activities. Our one and only complaint was the mosquitos. Bring spray! Otherwise, just enjoy the peaceful surroundings."

Best View in Downieville! Close to Town, trails and river.

Best View in Downieville! Close to Town, trails and river.

8/10 Good
"The location provides a wonderful view! And it is well provided for. However, going up the hill to the place is quite steep. As older folks we did not dare walk down to the downtown. For us the bed was too soft but some might like it. Overall we had a nice stay."

Charming Cabin for Sierra Nevada Getaways

Charming Cabin for Sierra Nevada Getaways

10/10 Excellent
"The cabin is fantastic. It’s rustic, but beautiful and everything I could have hoped for. As a city dweller and for all the city dwellers seeking a retreat off-grid be prepared. This is a seriously off-grid place. You lose reception 10 to 15 minutes before you reach your destination down a narrow fire road/trail. Satellite service is the only connection and you’ll need to find a spot where you can see one. A car can make it as long as it’s dry. We visited on the Fourth of July and there was not a sound the entire 48 hours we were there save for the faint voices or occasional bark from guests in the other cabins far enough away to be nonexistent. Whisper quiet when without wind. It’s well maintained, clean and modern, and the spring water is as good as it gets. We fantasized about having lots of friends visit with us so we could have a horror larp on the premises. Dense forest, private cabins, all the amenities you need. An off-grid 10/10."
