Breakfast and dinner were included in our package, and the food was fabulous and very authentic. Many great perks including a yukata to wear around, happy hour free drinks and a wonderful garden out back with an amazing view of the water. Kaiseki dinner was fantastic (lots of seafood) and a wonderful breakfast buffet. Room was amazing and the private onsen was very relaxing. Included complimentary shuttle service to the train station after check out in the morning. Would highly recommend staying here. 10/10."

"If you've stayed in one Tokoyo Inn, you've pretty much stayed in them all. This one hasn't seen some of the upgrades that busier locations have, but it's very clean and practically inside the train station."

"Overall it is really an excellent hotel. Many of the rooms should be updated, but still they are adequate and spacious. The breakfast area can be busy, but there is a large adjacent room with plenty of space. The hotel staff were great. The onsen has a spacious indoor bath and plenty of washing areas. The outdoor bath is very pleasant, just be careful walking on the stone surfaces. The staff takes good care of the onsen and sauna. The location is good. You can walk to Nagahama JR station and the old town area is just beyond. The lake and the large beautiful next door park and castle is good for walking. There are not many restaurants open at night in central Nagahama, but you can probably find something."

"I could not recommend this hotel enough if you intend to stay in the Hikone area. The hotel itself is surprisingly luxurious with great amenities and service. It's right outside of the Hikone castle area and you can get a great view of the castle and the surrounding areas basically at all times. It's also right near the Yumek"
