"Everything about the accommodation was excellent, especially the staff! Despite the communication struggles, they were very helpful and provided great service during my stay. "Lovely small hotel in an absolutely beautiful part of Japan. The service was top-notch and the view from the room unmatched. The natural sulfur onsen was lovely and refreshing. Included dinner is tasty enough, but maybe not for the experienced Japan traveler - it assumes a very low level of knowledge of Japanese culture, so it feels a little bit 'novelty'. The breakfast is buffet-style which is not my favourite. Had a good stay here."

"Very economical hotel. Room was relatively spacious (compared to Tokyo), clean, and there is lots of free parking. There aren't very many reasons to come here as an overseas traveller but this is a decent option if you are passing through and it punches well above its price in terms of delivery. Small quibble, arrived a couple of hours early and asked if my room was available -- was told I _could_ check in early but I would be charged for each hour early. It's only a favour if it is available, but I think the deal generally is pay for a guarantee, but if a guest is a little early and the room has been cleaned, you check them in."

"This spot was amazing all the way around. Like others have said given that it is a journey to get to, spend at least 2 nights. It was the perfect spot to slow down and relax. The food is amazing whether in the fancy dining room or in the cafe. The onsens overlooking nature and the waterfall were spectacular. Staff member April really made our stay great given her recommendations, explaining and teaching about local cuisines offered. The service is 5 star. I’d definitely return !! "

"The Yunomori onsen ryokan was one of the best places I've ever stayed at. The Kaiseki breakfast and dinner was incredible and the staff were 10/10 amazing. We had an in-room onsen and it was perfect. The entire place was clean and incredibly cozy. I would absolutely recommend Yunomori to anybody! It's a short walk to Yuno Lake nearby and also some beautiful waterfalls. I highly recommend this place to stay in Nikko. It was a very special experience for us. "
