We had a wonderful 4-days stay at Aston Kona by the Sea. The rooms were excellent, and the ocean-view balconies made the experience even better. All the areas within the resort use digital key access, which felt very secure and convenient. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. There is also a saltwater pool located right behind the property – although it is public, there’s a side entrance directly from the resort, which made it very easy for us to access and enjoy. The only small concern was the low water pressure in the bathroom showers. It wasn’t a major issue, but something worth mentioning. Overall, we had a pleasant and relaxing experience, and we highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Kona!

GREAT beach with trees, shade and sand !!!

Popular places to visit

Terri and I went swimming with Honu
or turtle which is a protected species in Hawaii. Coral was good but got to about 2 dozen Honu in the open and sheltered waters. Awesome blue waters and skies in Kona today.

We discovered this serene little beach last month. After turning off the highway there is a 2 mile drive over rocky unpaved terrain, but if you take it slow any kind of car should be able to traverse it. Our compact rental car did great. There is a parking area, and then a trail through the lava fields to the beach
