Location and layout were good. The condo was dated, well worn, and pretty bare bones. The beds were not great with old mattresses. Basics like coffee filters and salt/pepper would have been nice. The workout room was tiny with no weight machines

Lovely property but the unit was comfortable but needed an upgrade old furnishings not enough dishes only single serve coffee maker

Was overall nice stay, but there were cheaper options locally with more space. Ad said they slept 6, was expecting three bedrooms, but they had two bedrooms with a foldable cot in the closet of second bathroom.
Overall, the accommodations were very nice. The upstairs shower was outdated; the floor was discolored and looked dirty. The 2 couches were a bit uncomfortable, but the pillows helped. We had a problem with the toilet downstairs and maintenance was there twice to fix it. We appreciate them taking care of the problem. The ladies at your office were very nice and helpful. Liked the privacy and quiet of the gated community. We enjoyed our stay.

I would like to begin this review by saying we were very grateful to be in Hawaii and know how lucky we are. This is more of an alert to keep looking before renting this property. We have rented several homes and condos on the big island and this one had quite a few challenges. This is the first rental that had no beach equipment at all, very unusual and inconvenient. The beds were old and lumpy, no pillowcases for the master bed, the air didn’t work and was set at 75 degrees which made for some hot nights, kitchen and the whole house was was poorly stocked. The owners went cheap on everything and it showed! The condo development was quiet and the grounds and pool area were well cared for, the owner of the condo should follow there care. The woman that checked us in was quite nice and explained everything well. All in all, I wouldn’t rent this again for the price knowing there are WAY better options out there.
We thought the management was very responsive to our needs. They were polite, positive and helpful when we made requests or had questions. The grounds are lovely and the size of the condo was perfect for a family of 5 (3 teenagers). The pools were also lovely and clean. There were ample lounge chairs for people and the pool area was spacious. Garbage/recycling was nearby. The cons would be the fact that the hot tub was closed the last 2 days of our trip (for tile repair). Our condo unit was quite disappointing. The sofa bed was also very uncomfortable. One of our sons had to sleep on it folded up. The condo was supposed to sleep 6 (two on the sofa bed) but there is no way 2 people could have slept on it. Also, this specific condo lacked many of the basic items (i.e. broom, frying pan, tongs, baking tray, spray cleaner for the counters). The condo we stayed in last year was well stocked, which was why we came back this year. Management said it was up to the owners to stock the basic items. We would not stay in this one again (1703).

Not so good. The sofa sleeper was in terrible condition. We ended up having to purchase an air mattress in order to sleep.
The hotel left a baby crib in our condo by accident. They called about 4 times and emailed at least twice after I had given them permission to go in and retrieve it. I didn t appreciate being bothered that many times on my first day of vacation. And then we actually got locked out at one point. The door code was changed two days before we were due to check out. Lucky for us we returned early that day while the office was still open so they could provide the door code- otherwise I m not sure what would have happened.
The condo that we rented was horrible. #802. It was dirty from floor to ceiling. The beds had to have been 10 years old. We disliked it so much that we rented at another property after the first night. Worst experience ever in Hawaii.
Unexpected extras like the beach chairs, body boards and parasols for the beach made life so much easier. The whole complex was spotless and extremely well maintained. Each area has a security gate entry and it felt very safe.
We stayed in unit 2703. The unit was clean. The grounds of the Aston Waikoloa Colony were immaculate. The grass was mowed. The palms were trimmed. There was no trash lying anywhere. We visited both pools. The main pool had a lovely hot tub. The secondary pool, closer to our unit, was very nice. There were shaded areas at both pools so you could get out of the sun if you wanted.
Opened the door and got a whiff of smoke in a supposedly non smoking room. the original room they booked us in which "sleeps up to 6" only had 2 beds so we had to do a last minute change. They stick you with a $175 cleaning fee when you arrive and a &10.42 per day fee for internet. There were disgustingly dirty bowls in the kitchen, beige carpets with horridly black spots everywhere, lights that didn't work, dirty shower, not enough towels for 6, no complementary shampoo, only 1 roll of toilet paper and if you want your linen or towels changed you have to pay $20 per day extra. The cleaners were constantly in and out of the units garage at 8am every morning omg because apparently that's where they store their cleaning supplies. And all day and night we heard running water in the walls very loud. Not what id expect from a $400+ per night stay. Would not recommend this at all.
The condo is close to attractions, restaurants, nearby a very nice beach. Overall it is good for families. However we had many problems with the one we booked. Like the condo itself and is very quiet on the fairways. The unit itself needs a lot of updates and improvements. The dishwasher did not work- complain and someone showed but did not fix it. We have to hand wash dishes and all cookware every time. It is not a vacation to expect time cleaning dishes every time we make a meal for the family.
Spend more time trying to clean manually the last 5 days. Carpet need better cleaning and bathrooms are moldy. There was no cleaning pad and dish soap to do the dishes manually. We have to buy the soap and pad. We call the office and they some soap. It is just annoying when you are on vacation you expect to spend more time on touring the area and enjoying the pool or beaches..I will give a 2star fore this particular unit 802.
Beautiful resort in the Waikoloa Area. Check-in was at different resort, that was very hard to find. We had to call for directions, even using a GPS. Our unit was clean and comfortable, with everything you could possible need for a stay in paradise. The pool area and hot tub were beautiful and clean. There were 4 barbeques and tables adjacent to the pool. Our unit had beach chairs and an umbrella as well as a boogie board to use. This is a great value not having to rent them. There is a shopping center and a wonderful market nearby.
Got a nicer place than I expected. The pictures online didn't do it justice. Very clean except a couple spots on the carpet (including a iron print on the floor), and a few paint chips on the wall. Otherwise, nice view and good bang for buck.
We stayed for 15 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff was exception in their service and prompt attention to any needs which arose. The grounds were beautiful and very quiet. The location is very close to a variety of services and activities. We will definitely plan to stay here the next time we come to the Big Island.
From the warm welcome from Danette at the reception in the Shores to our departure experience, the process was painless. Wonderful accommodations for a family with a fully equipped kitchen where we found everything we could want to prepare meals. Proximity to beach and two lovely pools in gated community with nice walking paths.
Loved having coffee in the morning on the lanai and watching the birds forage on the grass and surrounding shrubbery!
