「The accommodation was clean and spacious. The decor is quite dark, but probably because of the dark beams. The welcome in the pub wasn’t great, we weren’t acknowledged whilst standing with our bags in the pub. I understand the stafff are busy, but a simple’hello, we’ll be with you in a minute’ would be nice. We didn’t see any members of staff as the breakfast is a completely self service buffet. 「The site did not indicate sign in was 3 to 6. Also, Google showed a pub AND a B&B. We arrived at 8 pm. to a locked door. Arrival was swift after a phone call but is not guaranteed. After that, the room was spotless, lots of extra touches. The lady at breakfast was lovely, and you choose it at sign in with numerous extras available.」

「Room was fairly new and clean. A little too hot during the night but the window did open slightly. Just to note the room is part the church which we didn’t realise until we got there. Right next door the bells were ringing every 15 minutes on the evening, then started again at 8am and lasted longer in the morning to call for service (it was Sunday). 「Main issues were a) the "bistro" and bar area looked nothing like the pictures on the website. Most of the dining tables had been replaced by a pool table and dart boards. Broken or unused furniture was piled up at the side of the room. After taking one look, we decided that eating here was not an option. Similar unwanted furniture etc was piled up on the stairs to the second floor. All in all, there is no way this could be described as a tidy place b) our room was immemdiately above the bar....

「It is a comfortable hotel with a slightly old fashioned feel, but it is a historic building and the staff are cheerful and helpful. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable and I appreciated the heavy curtains to cut out the sunlight. The stairs to the second floor were a bit tricky for an older guest when carrying luggage, although staff would have helped. I would certainly return.」

「A friendly welcome by the staff and very attentive throughout our stay. Room 8 was excellent with plenty of space and a large bath with separate shower. Food selection was great and expertly prepared. Plenty of choices for breakfast. Good selection of drinks at the bar. Several walks from the hotel and the river Wye is only a 15 minute walk away.」
