"Sadly I did not have the best experience whilst staying here. Firstly there was very loud party music being played late at night in the garden beneath my room window despite there being no one there. I tried to call reception to ask them what time it would be switched off but my room phone wasn’t working. I then left a message on my booking page, no response. I then found the hotel number to ring from my mobile but the website stated they were closed so I wasn’t sure I would get a response. Someone thankfully did answer, I told them about the music and they said they would switch it off, which they did. I do think the staff forgot to switch it off and had I not called it would have continued right through the night! Shower did not drain so I needed to keep switching it off to allow draining to avoid floods. I tried to make a cup of tea but the milk in the fridge was 3 days out of date so I couldn’t use that. Overall not the best stay! :( "

"We stayed at Thatcher’s Hotel (part of Surya Hotels) for three nights during half term. Overall, it’s an average hotel but offers good value for money. The rooms have been renovated and are modern and comfortable, and the beds were very comfortable which we appreciated. However, there were a few downsides. The room was extremely hot during the night, which made it difficult to sleep comfortably. Breakfast was average — nothing special — and dinner in the evening was also average but quite expensive for what it was. The location is on a main road near a petrol station, so it’s not the most scenic setting. You do need to drive to find somewhere nice for a proper walk. It’s also worth noting that during our stay we were the only guests with children, so it felt more like an adult-focused hotel rather than a family-oriented one. In summary, it’s fine for a short stay and reasonably priced, but don’t expect anything exceptional."

"Had to book quickly as going to event nearby and was let down. On booking says dog friendly, but only in words. Only rooms dogs can go in is the converted stables. Paid for 4 post poster and large and rundown low budget, albeit clean."

"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, cozy, warm Ariel cottage. Woodland area for walks nearby golf course, dogs welcome although we did not take any pets but so suitable for your furry friends.Jake very welcoming, thankyou so much"
