The rooms are large and well laid-out, the front desk staff are friendly and engaging, and -- rare among airport hotels -- the restaurant offers excellent Indonesian, Chinese, and European food. Also rare among airport hotels, the fitness center is very good. It has two treadmills, several other exercise machines, weights, and lots of space for improvized exercise. If you want to just stretch your legs you can also walk from Anara over to terminal 3, which has a nice assortment of small and medium size restaurants, as well as small convenience stores. "We had an absolutely phenomenal stay at Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. A very special thank you to Indah at the Club Lounge — she is truly a gem. Courteous, professional, warm, and incredibly knowledgeable about the surrounding area, her recommendations helped us discover some fantastic spots around Jakarta. She genuinely elevated our experience. Katika, also at the Club Lounge, was equally impressive — attentive, proactive, and always one step ahead. Both of them represent the hotel beautifully. The birthday surprises were unforgettable. The room service team (three wonderful ladies whose names we unfortunately didn’t catch) surprised me with a cake and sang — it truly made my day. Just when I thought that was it, Indah and Katika surprised me again during evening cocktails with a beautifully presented dish from the Chinese restaurant along with a thoughtful card. Absolutely first class. Housekeeping was excellent, the front desk team was welcoming and efficient, and the buffet was outstanding — especially appreciated the chef personally coming by to check on guests. That level of care says everything. We’ve stayed at several Mandarin Oriental properties around the world — they’re always excellent — but Jakarta truly went above and beyond. Professional, polished, detail-oriented, and genuinely warm. We will absolutely return and will highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Jakarta. "
