"Although my trip was cut short due to an emergency back home, my little time spent at this property was amazing and the staff was beyond accommodating when I had to leave early. They even gave me a credit for the unused days which I am super grateful for. Cannot wait to return!! 10 out of 10 Uncle Kenny"

"Please !!!!!!! A hotel at the wall city with a BAD MATTRESS the bed was squeaky! We were afraid to move , bed sheets itching, the bathroom sink liking, and the toilet cover unsafe, at the checkout we were charged for breakfast, when we set this hotel for the breakfast. Be aware is not easy to sleep or rest with a bad bed. Staff was kind and floors and pool clean, elevator damage is a hotel with four floors."

"From even before we arrived our stay was already fabulous. The concierge staff reached out to us in advance offering assistance and were able to arrange two accommodations we wanted even before we checked in. They remained that helpful during our entire stay. The property and rooms are beautiful. The restaurant and bar are amazing and every staff member was friendly and helpful. The location is excellent and walking distance to everything inside the Walled City. We enjoyed every second of our stay there."

"We enjoyed every aspect of this hotel apart from one crucial thing. After disembarking a Silversea cruise, we checked in and a friend from the ship accompanied us to the hotel. The front desk would not accept a US driver’s licence as ID and refused to let him see our room for a brief moment. I was informed that only a passport would suffice. The following evening, we invited a friend from the US who was in the area to come to the hotel around 8.30pm before going to dinner. We warned her that she would need to give the hotel reception her passport. However, when we called the reception desk to inform them we were expecting a guest, we were told this would not be possible. This was extremely embarrassing for us when we had to inform our friend that she was not welcome at the hotel. Furthermore, I was approached many times during our stay asking for my name and room number as if I did not belong there. This was irritating. The bed was excellent and the room beautifully quiet. Breakfast was wonderful also with a great choice. Unfortunately, however, I would probably stay elsewhere on my sixth visit to Cartegena for the reasons above."

"If you are visiting Cartagena, you must stay at the Sofitel Santa Clara. The property itself is visually stunning, packed with fascinating history, and perfectly located. Our room was elegant, exceptionally clean, and featured a beautiful balcony overlooking the historic pool area. The breakfast buffet is hands down the best in Colombia, offering a massive spread of fresh tropical fruits, local pastries, and flawless service. What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is the staff—the butler and concierge teams went completely above and beyond to curate local itineraries and handle every request with grace. Highest recommendation! Pedro in the reception area, Luis Carlos at the Restaurant went above and beyond and everybody at the hotel made our stay so perfect, we always like to comeback to Santa Clara every time we go to Cartagena!!"
