The Relais Cooden Beach

8/10 Good

"Due to mobility issues we booked as accessible room the room was bright & airy & plenty of space if using a wheelchair the bathroom was excellent with 3 emergency buttons (instead of 1 red cord) all within easy reach should they be needed & all the fixtures & fittings were in a matt black finish giving it a modern look instead of a cold clinical disabled 1 which i felt was very well thought out. There were 2 large single beds 1 of which has a emergency button within easy reach should the need arise ,plus a chair & a bench seat & end of each bed also in wardrobe was a safe & a long shoe horn again a thoughtful addition Unfortunately there were a couple of things that we need to point out but nothing that won't be easy to solve 1)the balcony outside was covered in bird poo which although can't be helped it wasn't swept for the duration of our stay (4 days) 2)The balcony furniture was totally unsuitable for a disabled guest aa it was very low & the actual seat sloped backwards even lower with no cushions 3) the large planters had dead flowering them 4) my personal bug bear not enough clothes hangers"

"We had an amazing stay! The hotel was peaceful, spotlessly clean, and the staff were incredibly helpful, attentive, and always greeted us with a warm smile. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. My son absolutely loved the swimming pool and the jacuzzi. In fact, he cried when it was time to leave because he had been so happy and comfortable during our stay—that says it all! Thank you to everyone for making our visit so comfortable. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

"Location is verry central to all the lovely things that Rye has to offer - the view from our room (at the top of the hotel) was spectacular. Although the room was top floor, and the temperature was hot, the fan supplied did a good job of keeping the room cool. We met two different members of staff who went above and beyond to help us and this made the stay. There are some rooms that have been renovated and other areas, (the hallway and stairs) that are yet to be done and appear to look tired and in need of a refurb too. Breakfast was well organised and food was of good quality with a range to choose from."

"I read a lot of reviews ahead of time, so was worried - but honestly, The Holiday Inn in Ashford was really perfect for me this weekend - and I am a pretty harsh critic. I was working nearby, and the combination of the incredibly helpful and kind staff, the renovated room and very comfortable bed, the working (albeit I couldn’t change the temperature) air conditioning, the nice shower…. It was everything I needed and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone else. Because of the renovations, I didn’t have a fridge, a safe, or any water, but I believe that will be remedied soon, and the bar were only too happy to give me ice and water. Also, thanks to other reviews, I knew to ask if it was possible to have a renovated room, which they gave me, and I think that made a big difference."
