"We really loved the restaurant food options for dinner and the included breakfast was also very good. We loved the wait staff (and the receptionist!). Everyone was very accommodating and pleasant. They have seating outside overlooking the beautiful view and have a few swings there, as well, that our teenage girls used non-stop while we were there. Really beautiful quiet area, away from the hustle and bustle of the more tourist filled La fortuna close by. We borrowed a TV and watched a movie together a couple of nights and enjoyed the hot tub and pool, as well! We really enjoyed our stay. "

"We absolutely loved being immersed in the jungle, surrounded by nature! Nita and Marty have truly built a little paradise here. Incredibly responsive to communication and very helpful. Breakfasts were easily customizable and tasty. Room was clean and hosts made sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend their B&B. The road to the property is a bit challenging, so I would suggest driving to it at least the first time in the daylight."

"This is the most beautiful place to stay. The owners have spared no expense in making the room comfortable and inviting. They have thought of everything you might possibly need. The views are beautiful. We would definitely stay here again. Make sure to spend time at the Observatory as it is close by."

"The Retreat is gorgeous. The views of the Volcano and Lake are amazing. The pescatarian menu is perfect for vegetarians and pescatarians. All three meals are served. We did not have meals included but very much enjoyed dinner and breakfast there. The pocket sized gathering places are charming - slider over looking lake, dining room and reception, the separate lounge area with tea and coffee looking into the jungle. The evening walk was fun. The property is on the top of a very steep hill with accommodations running down the hill. A shuttle takes one up and down for yoga, however the hill is very steep and very long. With a reconstructed ankle I could not do it so was confined to the top of the hill which was beautiful. Also the resort is very hard to contact. Our arrival plans changed because of a missed connection and we had no phone number or email to let them know. "

"View was amazing. Rooms clean. Host was friendly and helpful. Only had one small issue with thr refrigerator and the host fixed immediately. The only other issue was the stove ignition didnt work but simple to use a lighter. The location of the property is great, close to everything."

"The location of this beautiful home is perfect. We loved the small town of El Castillo and the views from the property were spectacular. We loved having our morning coffee on the balcony while watching the clouds move across Arenal and bird watch. The owners live on the property and were very welcoming and helpful. The location was great and would highly recommend! "
