「Nepenthe is a gem. You need to grab this stay for as long as it stays a gem, the owners are getting older and are actively trying to sell. Make this trip, you will not regret it. Stay for the week, there is plenty to do around Arenal, do not spend hours driving that you could spend listening to the howler monkeys, watching the toucans every morning, or enjoying the oropendola living their day. 」

If you’re considering taking a moment away in the jungle to be with nature, live on a farm, eat amazing food, try different spa treatments, hike, yoga; this is the place! I stayed farm side which was cool at night. It’s a short hike or shuttle ride to the hotel part where dinner or spa activities are. You will not be disappointed. I’m going back and I can’t wait to experience it again. 」

「Dinner at the restaurant is fantastic! The Chocolate tour (5 min walk) was a great mid morning tour and very interesting - make and eat your own chocolate! The walk up to La Fortuna was challenging so ask for a ride of you need one. The owner was incredibly helpful and was able to get me a day pass to Baldi Springs for the locals rate :) 」
「The property is fantastic. You are in the middle of the rainforest with wildlife all around. There are lots of activities to fill your time, or you can lounge around one of the pools or in your own plunge pool. The spa services were excellent.」
「Amazing place! It is a little outside the town with an amazing view of the volcano. The property was so relaxing with a pool and shaded areas to hang out. So many birds and a beautiful garden! The actual room was good for sleeping and making simple meals but we spent most of our time outdoors on the property. Would stay again!」
