"The bedroom was very bright all night which made sleeping difficult. The curtains were not fully connected to their runners. The resturant menus was not reflective of the resturant menus online (website)"

"The hotel was clean and inviting. Being centrally located, I felt 2-3 blocks from everything. The hotel staff were very friendly and gave the best of service, even when busy. "

"Lovely, grand hotel. Rooms are a bit dated, and fresh, lighter coloured furniture would be preferred. Bed was very comfy. Shower screens rather than shower curtains would be preferred. Nice touch to have biscuits and water in the room. If fridges were added to the rooms, that would be good too. Lovely lobby, bar and restaurant area. Breakfast was brilliant and the scrambled eggs were delicious and golden! The smoothies and yoghurt granola pots were great too. Hotel is in a great location and easily accessible by public transport and close to the RDS. Definately recommend this hotel. "

"Have just spent 2 nights at The Samuel: Positives: convenient for the 3Arena and getting into the centre of the city (a tram stop being outside the hotel). Negatives: seemed understaffed and with a lack of attention to detail. Having checked in and gone to the room the first thing that my wife discovered was someone’s hair on her pillow.…not a great start! We then went to make a hot drink only to find that we’d only been given 1 tea bag!. Perhaps they’d forgotten to replenish the supply but again, a lack of attention to detail. On Saturday we went out all day and didn’t return to the hotel until 5:45pm. Upon our return we found that the housekeeping had only just reached our room. As we were pushed for time, having a dinner reservation in the city, we waited outside the room for the housekeeping to be completed. However, the bed wasn’t made, the tea/coffee/biscuits weren’t topped up, the face towels were taken from the bathroom but new ones weren’t provided and the bathroom amenities weren’t topped up. There was a travel tour staying at the hotel and, with an event taking place at the 3Arena, the hotel was clearly busy. However, to still be cleaning guests rooms at close to 6pm is pretty poor going. When we checked out on Sunday morning the receptionist took the key-cards and checked that there was nothing owing. She didn’t ask if we’d enjoyed our stay or even wish us a nice day. We paid a lot to stay at the hotel and came away extremely underwhelmed."

"Pretty average hotel in a decent location for attending events at either the Bord Gais Energy Theater or the Dublin Convention Centre. Check-in was efficient, our rooms was ready at 13.30. The room was a decent size and the bed was comfortable. We headed down to the restaurant to grab a quick lunch. We shared a pizza and it was the blandest pepperoni pizza I have ever had. After walking into the city centre (20 mins) for a spot of retail therapy we came back to get ready for our event at the nearby Convention Centre. The shower (in the bath, which I hate anyway) was one of the worst I have experienced. The water pressure was non-existent resulting in the water simply dribbling out of the shower head. Breakfast the next morning was decent, but as we came down late 10.40 (they serve till 11 on weekends), by the time we went get hot food (at 10.50) almost everything was gone and the did not refill any of the exhausted items, which I felt was poor. All in all for the price we paid I was rather disappointed, pity."
