"I would never stay here again or recommend it. My air conditioner didn’t work in both rooms I had. The customer service from the front desk staff besides the overnight staff was unacceptable. I insisted on changing rooms after the room next door was smoking laced weed on the balcony &my entire hotel room on the 6th floor stunk up in till the front lobby downstairs. When I got my new room it was absolutely disgusting & if I wasn’t checking out the next day I would’ve switched hotels. There were stains on the towels, the entire room besides the bed was not cleaned. The balcony door was broken to an already unsafe balcony, the headboard was nasty & uncleaned leaning towards the bed basically broken. And not even the toilets flush properly I was so disgusted & grossed out. The bathroom was filthy & unclean, I had to clean my own room up for it to be usable which ruined my evening plans on my last night. On top of that the manager the morning after switching rooms insisted I would be getting a partial refund. I asked both her & the front desk staff member for written confirmation that I would get a partial refund for having my trip ruined by this filthy place. As soon as I land & request written confirmation for a refund they’re not giving it to me so I will be reaching out to the booking site. The only things I can’t complain about were the beach staff & overnight staff who were wonderful & kind although I was having a horrible experience & very upset. Manager is a liar too"

"Property and staff were amazing and friendly. Pool, bar and food is great. Rooms were little outdated with few minor issues. One thing about restaurants, the app shows a different menu what they actually offer on different days so it’s a good idea to check with restaurant on the actual menu rather than relying on the app. Also, if you get the Ocean view room, don’t expect the ocean view in front of you. You might have to go to your balcony and look at your left to see the ocean. There is a full chance your “Ocean View” might have a building view in front of you. The pictures are deceiving when you select the room. "

"We stayed in one of the ocean view junior suites. We loved the view from the balcony, and the water pressure in the shower was great, but the room was a bit dated, and the beds were horribly uncomfortable. We did enjoy going to the gym everyday, as well as hanging out by the pool and swimming in the beautiful water. We tried the gourmet restaurant Krystal and the Japanese restaurant Sakura; both were just okay.. We ended up at the buffet for most of our meals, and loved the little coffee place by the lobby. This resort is very clean, the staff was super friendly, and they have 3 pools - something for everyone. Personally, I don't care for the party scene but we met so many nice people and had a lot of fun wherever we went. Riu Palace runs like a well oiled machine, something I appreciate. Overall, we loved our weeklong stay here and would come back in a heartbeat!"
