"We booked Surf Rider based on the strong reviews, especially the repeated mentions of great hospitality-but unfortunately, our experience didn't reflect that at all. The rooms are extremely small, and the noise from PCH is constant and very loud, making it difticult to relax or sleep. I asked if there was any possibility of moving to a quieter room, but the only option offered was to pay an additional $450-$1000, which felt unreasonable. We were also staying here to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and there was no acknowledgment whatsoever—no small gesture or even a simple mention, which was disappointing given the hotel's reputation for hospitality. The front desk representative look at us like we had four heads when mentioned the celebration. Overall, for the price point, I expected a much more comfortable and thoughtful experience. This stay fell short. Very disappointed we chose this over the Malibu Beach Inn who actually provides a getaway experience reflective of the price point. There’s not a rogue one or a robe."
