「Nice, clean rooms (even if small) and a very good breakfast. Staff was very polite and very helpful. Wish the location was slightly more accessible. Beds are comfortable but there was a lot of activity in the corridor late at night. There is only one lift and no stairs, so it was quite frustrating having to wait for 5 minutes for the lift just to go up one floor to my room. Still, it's excellent value for the amount I paid and I can definitely recommend the hotel.」

「The hotel failed to take payment at check-in due to their error. When I noticed, I reached out on WhatsApp and offered to pay, but I was ignored. A month later, they suddenly contacted me and aggressively pursued payment. I paid right away, but they then went silent and still have not provided an invoice despite repeated requests. This was unprofessional and frustrating, and I would caution others about their billing and communication.」

"This beautiful hotel combines the charm of a historic building with modern comforts. The food is delicious, the staff are warm and friendly, and they are always happy to help arrange drivers and train journeys. But what truly makes this hotel special is its exceptional hospitality. When I stayed here last year, I had just bought some Indian clothes and was struggling to figure out how to wear them. The ladies at the front desk and in housekeeping kindly helped me. When they noticed I had no pin to secure my scarf, one of the housekeeping staff even went out of her way to buy some for me. When I returned this year, I found the pins tucked into an adorable little pouch on the bathroom counter. They had remembered! I was deeply touched that they had kept such a small detail in mind and prepared something for me. It made me feel truly remembered and cared for. Someone had also noticed that I needed to remove my nail polish and thoughtfully left some remover for me without my even asking. These little acts of kindness mean so much to me. I have never experienced such thoughtful, personal service at any other hotel. This is more than just a place to stay; it is my home in Kolkata. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else. I will always come back to this wonderful place, where I feel not just welcome, but genuinely cared for."
