Great location and great value. Pool area was nice and room size was decent. Staff were also excellent in general. Some downsides were the very loud air conditioning units, ours didn’t go cold enough either to be comfortable overnight. The showers also aren’t fully enclosed so water goes everywhere. It was also disappointing that room service and replenishment of water bottles wasn’t daily with the heavy resort fees charged. We did not use the gym or beach equipment as these were offsite so not convenient. Besides these points we did enjoy our stay and handy location.

Great location and spectacular views, but disappointing housekeeping and maintenance. The lobby is beautiful, clean, and welcoming, but the condition upstairs was very different. Our hallway had dirty, musty-smelling carpets and dusty ceiling lights. Our room had dust buildup in corners and behind lamps, plus red spots along the baseboards. My spouse spent 40 years in Environmental Services at a major California hospital, eventually managing 300+ housekeepers, so he knows proper housekeeping standards. This wasn’t about being overly picky—the room simply wasn’t cleaned properly. During our 8-day stay, our bedsheets were never changed. We had to request housekeeping several times. The room was vacuumed only once, after we asked. Twice, housekeeping didn’t arrive until after 3 PM, and another day they never showed up. We eventually had to find another housekeeper and call the front desk. Someone finally arrived close to 6 PM. The room also had a persistent musty odor. I can’t say what caused it, but it wasn’t reassuring given my history of asthma. Other issues included a cramped bathroom, lukewarm water, one sink, inadequate seating, and a coffee maker whose “full cup” setting produced about 1/8 cup. The fifth-floor view was spectacular, the aquarium manager was helpful, and the parking security officer was outstanding. Unfortunately, those positives couldn’t overcome the cleanliness and service problems. A beautiful lobby can’t hide a dirty hotel.

Everything was perfect! Thank you to the Marbella Team, our stay was excellent. We enjoyed everything Mākaha valley had to offer. Especially the amazing sunsets! 10/10 would recommend

The first night we arrived, I had already reserved a table two weeks in advance for my friend’s birthday. I even called twice to confirm, and both times they assured me that our table was reserved. But when we arrived, they did not give us the table we had been promised. We were kept waiting and eventually seated somewhere far away from the stage. When dinner was served, the food was very disappointing. The quality is nothing like it used to be, and it was not enjoyable at all. I’m not sure what has happened with the management, but this was definitely not the hotel I remembered and had visited many times before. Even the water glass they brought me was extremely dirty, with a piece of food still stuck to it. I clearly remember the manager, Steve, coming over and apologizing, but despite everything that happened, nothing was offered to make up for the experience other than an apology. Then, on the second or third night, we asked to have our room cleaned in the morning. When we came back that night and were getting ready for bed, we noticed a stain on the bedsheet. We honestly could not tell whether it was blood, feces, or chocolate because the room did not have enough lighting. The manager came to the room and simply offered a $200 discount. I will absolutely not return to this hotel, and I would not recommend it. Perhaps because I booked the room through Expedia, they were more careless about our experience, but I really don’t know.
