I am a Canadian of Finnish decent and a friend of mine recommended the Home Hotel. I gotta tell you its a great hotel. Yes I was a little apprehensive at first as I heard it used to be a jail...but everything was amazing!
From how they redesigned the place...to the lighting...to the super knowledgable and friendly staff...to the amazingly tasty buffet breakfast...to the heated bathroom floors and the super comfy bed it was a 10/10.
Oh also the location! Just a 5-10 minute walk to the tourist zone of Helsinki...but far enough to be super quiet and peaceful.
Highly recommend this one!

The room was nice with really comfortable beds. Having a nice gym and sauna in the hotel was great. Probably one of the best things was the nice kitchen we had access to.
