"Villa Appiani is at a great location to get to center of Florence without being right in the center of it. It's a quite location where you can relax after a day of sightseeing and they have a great resturant. Also they provide shuttle service to the entrance of Florence at no extra cost. The onsite restaurant and rooftop bar offered a great option during a rainy day, should you decide for a day at the hotel for some R&R.
We had help organising a transfer to Malpensa airport which saved us 2 hours of public transport (although at a significant cost).
Whilst the hotel is tucked away from the busier areas, buses to Como, Bellagio, Varenna were easy to use (you can pay by card on the bus) and trains are available.
