"The hotel itself is excellent--the rooms are quiet and clean, the staff are excellent, and the breakfast spread is also very good. This hotel does have 24h locked security, however, as it's in a pretty rough area of town.
Tbere is a lot of dining and other entertainment close to the hotel, and its very walkable. That said, as a solo traveller, the roughness of the area was intimidating."
"Had a great stay at the Shinjuku Prince Hotel. Vlery convenient, only 2-3 blocks tto the train station. Walkable to restaurants and shopping. There are shops and restaurants in the ssme building. Rooftop restaurant has great views. Located in the Golden Gai area. This area is good for nightlife. The hotel was very nice & clean. The rooms are small as most are in Japan, but functional as I had what I needed. Recommend couples and damilies to upgrade to the larger rooms for walking space. The staff was very nice and polite, most spoke English. The staff even accomodated a very late check out due to a delayed flight and kept my luggage for a few hours while I enjoyed the last few hours of the area. I recommend this hotel and would stay again! Thank you for the great experience."

"An Incredibles stay. The staff were extremely friendly and very proficient in English for that matter. They were also very patient with my broken Japanese. I felt right at home even after taking a tumble outside. We went to the front desk upon entry and the staff saw my knee, came back and helped me disinfect and bandage my cut - incredible service. Air conditioning is central air. So, you can blast more than what the room can provide. But it was cool enough for my stay.
It's in Ikebukuro, which is a very lively and safe place, thus a lot of shops/restaurants around. The food quality is not like central Tokyo, but it's good enough.
