"Over all my stay at the Malmaison Hotel was good. The room was clean - breakfast was excellent! and the staff are attentive and friendly."

"We stayed for one night in a suite booked through Expedia and unfortunately the experience did not meet expectations, particularly given the price paid. We chose the suite because it was advertised as having a separate sitting area and complimentary WiFi. However, the room did not appear to have a genuinely separate seating area as described, and we were not provided with any WiFi information on arrival. There were several maintenance and cleanliness issues, including a broken and unstable table, an empty shower gel dispenser, an unpleasant odour coming from the bathroom, and a room telephone that did not work. We also attempted to contact room service at around 7pm and received no answer. The sofa bed was particularly disappointing. Our child, who normally sleeps very well, struggled to sleep on it and we did not feel it was suitable for use as a child's bed. The room was extremely hot on arrival, with the windows and curtains left open on one of the hottest days of the year. Despite putting the fans on immediately, it took a long time for the room to become comfortable. The hotel itself felt tired and dated in several areas and would benefit from refurbishment and improved maintenance. We were also disappointed by the breakfast arrangements. Information provided stated that weekday breakfast, including Mondays, was served from 7:00am. However, as it was a Bank Holiday Monday, breakfast did not start until 8:00am. "I understand this is budget. But the room was so small it felt claustrophobic, we paid for a room with a window but couldn’t open it. The aircon didn’t work and staff didn’t help just said everyone’s having a problem it should work in a house….it didn’t for 2 days and with no window to open it was horrible. Bathroom glass door makes so much noise when closed and as room so small it’s right next to your ear. Zero amenities and not one shelf to put any luggage or clothes. Wouldn’t do it again almost slept in my car one night. Parking is 15 a night but nowhere did it say that on my booking and there was no answer from my message or calls to the hotel."

"Beautiful stay at The Store. It is in the centre of Oxford and in walking distance of all local restaurants and the new theatre. We arrived slightly early, but were able to complete pre check in and our bags were kept safely. We headed up to the terrace bar while waiting for our room - beautiful views! Every member of staff was exceptional, couldn’t do enough for you. Breakfast in the morning was delicious! We will definitely choose The store again on our next visit. Tip: if travelling by car - park at Westgate only a 5 minute walk to the hotel."
