"Toilet seat was hanging off. Had to wait to get checked in, sea gulls kept us awake all night. Not an aera I recommend."

"Not beach views as it's on a back street . room 208 needs painting on walls and a fan in bath room as you can not open windows as they are wooden windows and could not open. the staff was nice . the hotel needs alot of work to get up to todays 3 star rating."

"Arrived to be given a key and parking disc , friendly but nobody overnight at a reception, big room but found it very noisy with the seagulls and road noise as single glazed windows , tap wobbly and no waste cover in shower , should have unplugged the fridge as noisy at night on and off , no plug point near the dressing table so couldn’t see when drying hair , did smell like a greasy spoon !!!"

"Great location for exploring Scarborough. Breakfast definitely a cut above the average. Our room was quite snug (I guess a result of The Waves being in an older building)."

"I was shocked how much space and how great the view was for the price. This is an old mansion. It has creeks on the floors which I found charming, but all the amenities the shower, the bathtub, and the other bathroom the kitchen were perfect. The bed was very comfortable. We only tried one of the two bedrooms in our apartment. We only rented for a night, but felt welcomed and welcome to return. I recommend this property as it was one of the best I have stayed in in the UK."
