A rougher part of town, but inside the hotel felt very safe. Perhaps the rooms use to be smoking as there was a strong smoke smell in the room, but never the less it was a clean bed.

I've been staying at the Phoenix for 30+ years. Parking is easy, and the bed was super comfortable. The staff is always so pleasant, unpretentious, and rock-and-roll. PLEASE STAY OPEN!!!

We enjoyed a nice quiet stay. This hotel is deceiving; unassuming from the outside but an Old Hollywood feel once you enter. The office staff is exceptional; very friendly and helpful. Take the surrounding area with a large grain of salt and remember you’re in San Francisco. Our only disappointment was that the restaurant was under renovation and the bar wasn’t open midweek. Would stay here again.

The hotel definitely has a kick back vibe. Parking was easy. The room was pretty retro and spartan by most hotel standards. A good label would be unpretentious.The front desk manager was awesome. Very helpful and welcoming. The only disappointment was the bar was closed, but made up by what was available at the front desk.

Good place to stay in San Francisco especially if you’re going to a concert at the Bill Graham auditorium it’s like an 8 minute walk so close! They have safe parking and allow pets both for a small fee.The lights in the room were cool and I liked the widows they are unique and allow easy air flow. The pool is big and heated so usable even in the winter. The lobby has food and drink for purchase and more amenities which was nice. The most standoutish part was the receptionists/ waitstaff especially Cameron! He was so kind and genuine, I hope to see him again since we already have our next stay booked yayyy!

This hotel was something like I’ve never stayed at. It was so cool the ambience walking from the check-in office to our room was so cool. The gentleman who helped us check-in, gave us some ideas of where to go he mentioned a place down the road called black cat, was an easy walk to multiple places nearby. Was a good experience.

As Good as It gets for the area and price. Nice pool. Convenient parking. There is a lot of homeless in the area but they don't seem to be bad people. just minding their own business. I was never asked for any money walking down the streets.

I will always come back to The Phoenix when I come to sf. Not only is the staff amazing but the property has a personality of its own! My favorite place for group trips. During this trip we had 3 rooms in total and the staff put them close together without me even asking. On a separate occasion, I stayed during a sundaze day party and it was so much fun!! The parking is easily accessible and the staff is amazing and friendly! LONG LIVE THE PHOENIX 🐦‍🔥

The some of lights in our room didn’t work, we told the staff the first night and they said they would look at it. Lights were never fixed and the staff never followed up. Two of the towels had black stains on them. The connected bar and restaurant are closed but that was not communicated. Bed was nice, rate was reasonable, staff was friendly
