Convenience for my purposes (visiting a friend who lives nearby) and price outweigh the initial impression of a slightly seedy block. The reception fellow was pleasant, warm, and observant. He really was the best asset of the motel. Was worried at first about noise from neighbors, but they weren’t an issue after all. Felt safe and slept well. As a dog owner (didn’t bring him this trip), appreciated the motel is dog-friendly and has plenty of well-stocked poop bag stations. Plentiful parking; good restaurants nearby; ocean across the street.

Great housekeeping, property itself is a little rough around the edges, parking is good for San Francisco, and it's a 5 min or less walk to the beach. Your door looks at a nice dune / trail, you can hear and smell the ocean. Rooms were rather roomy and all staff encountered were nice. We had a fridge, just not a coffee maker or microwave but I knew that and planned accordingly. Was it perfect? No. Was it perfect for us? Absolutely! If you're looking for a great value in the city, to enjoy both Ocean Beach and San Francisco, and you're okay with things being not fancy and a maybe a little moldered,

It was next to the beach and golden gate park which was nice for morning strolls. However, the wifi did not work and cellular service was very spotty in the rooms. The main entrance has a warning for human trafficking, and some neighbors were very loud late into the evening, which makes it feel a bit unsafe.

The hotel was satisfactory overall. However, the windows were broken, and some of the electrical outlets were not functioning properly. The cleanliness was acceptable, and the staff were excellent—very attentive, respectful, and protective. When we arrived, a random individual appeared to be following us, and the staff handled the situation professionally and ensured our safety in a very respectful manner. The location was excellent, very close to the beach, which made the stay enjoyable. The room had a slightly unpleasant smell, but overall, I appreciated the experience and the hospitality provided. 😊🏨🌊

The best part of this was the location and free parking. Our room was clean, but everything in it was just sloppy. The mattresses were basically cardboard, sunk in weird places, and the one of the frames was missing a leg and a wheel, so it dipped lower than the Dow currently. The shower was accessible and large, but someone had used enough bleach to dissolve body parts to clean it. One of the lamps didn’t work at all, and the bedding was probably older than my elder Millennial self, and was as threadbare as my will to live.

It depends on what you can tolerate and what you can't. Let's say good things first. The location is excellent. It’s right in front of Ocean Beach. You can walk, jog, ride a bike, or swim. I had a wonderful early morning stroll on the sand. The room is roomy, the beds are clean and comfortable, there are clean towels, and there is a fridge and microwave. I stayed with three teenage daughters, and we literally just checked in late, showered, slept, got up the next day, and left. The toilet sink was cracked and painted over, and the bathtub was almost plugged, so it didn't drain fast. Inside the microwave, there was no turning dish, but it worked. It's Motel 6, but it's pricier per night than other locations because of its location. We slept fine, and I enjoyed the morning St or all at the beach so. I may stay again if I have the chance to visit San Francisco.

If you get rooms 117 118 or 119 be prepared to have a noisy night. The security gate doesn't latch properly so you'll hear it slam. Also a long term tenent has a dog living with them. You'll hear that yipping and scratching around

There is no better location on this side of the city and on Ocean Beach. Just a quick walk across the street and you're ON the beach and if you cross the street to the right, you're in Golden Gate Park. Honestly, besides its lack of amenities, it's a place I will continue to go back to stay. And there are cafes within walking distance and the Zoo just down the street less than 2 miles away. You could walk there from the hotel on the beautiful Great Highway on Ocean Beach.

I stayed here for 3 nights with my family of 4. The property is definitely in need of updates. The rooms are bare bones…broken dresser, no tv remote, busted lamps, weird outlet wiring. The beds are decent but it was very hard to sleep with all of the noise. Between the cars revving engines, doors slamming at all hours, walls so thin I could hear my neighbors sleep apnea, two random guys screaming at 1 am, and animals scampering on the roof it was impossible to sleep. Stairways were filthy and ln disrepair. The only saving grace was the wonderful maid that cleaned each morning and the location….The sunsets can’t be beat. I won’t be staying here again.

Room was clean, bath room was clean, beach view was great, close to convenience stores, parking was first come first serve, there’s public parking across the street but competitive being that it’s at the beach. In a pretty nice area as opposed to other locations in the city.

One of our beds was missing a leg, making it unusable. When our upstairs neighbor took a shower, water dripped down our bathroom window. Almost none of the outlets worked - couldn’t use the tv or charge anything. There was a dead cockroach next to the bathtub. The toilet broke and required maintenance to come out at midnight to fix, and still leaked on the floor after. There was weird scratching noises in the walls, very loud, we have it on video too. The chair completely fell apart when our child sat on it. No screens on any windows, and when the cleaning lady was “mopping” the water literally spilled through our door from outside.

This is a great location for a decent price. Beds are comfortable and shower was clean. But the rooms do have a musty smell. You can open a window but there are no screens. No microwave or coffee in room. But overall a good motel for just a bed and shower. Will stay there again.

This motel has not been thoroughly cleaned or updated in decades. There was no overhead light in the room- only small desk lamps that would turn off randomly. There were stains on the wall, some of which had been covered off with mismatched paint. All of the furniture is beat up and damaged in some way. The bed sheets had permanent stains even if washed. There were dirty hand towels, food, and dirt under the bed. There was a man asleep on the stairs outside the room in the morning which was quite alarming. I did not feel comfortable or safe in this room and would advise against staying here. I will not stay here again.

The room was not clean and the property was loud. It looked like there were long-term renters in the hotel, the room had hair, nail clippings, foot prints (on the ceiling?) toys and food debris. We left and went elsewhere.
