We are sad that we did not get to taste Carlos' wines because we were gone long days & nights playing tourist, but they sounded wonderful. "This property is amazing! There's an old mill with a stream, a cute bridge and fish to watch. There are fruit trees, an outdoor bbq building, mountain views and a town nearby with everything you need. It's about 20-25 minutes away from the university town of Coimbra, which has lots of tourist attractions, major shopping, etc. Also, the owners are wonderful and so helpful. This was a great experience and vacation."

"This property is even more beautiful than the pictures suggest. An ideal base to explore Porto. Our host was extraordinarily helpful - including finding a doctor to write a script my wife needed. Mornings next to the pool looking over the Douro with fresh fruit from adjacent trees - doesn’t get much better!"

"Great place with easy access to other sightseeing. Porto was about an hour and half away. Fatima and Coimbra were only about 30 minutes and Nazaré was even less than that. The house made a perfect base for touring those areas and Lidia was a great host! Would definitely come back again if we are in the area."

"This house is beautiful! The house was depicted exactly as the listing. It was a very large and well stocked kitchen with all the pots/pans etc you need. The garden was beautiful as well with a beautiful pool and lovely outdoor furniture to enjoy. Beds were very comfortable and home was very clean. The only thing was concerned about with the house was the beautiful staircase as I have a 3 years old and an 8 year old. The railing has large gaps so please be mindful if you have small children....

"As the name implies, this was an excellent place to get to know Madeira. The grounds of this property is truly a gardener’s paradise with *labeled* endemic Madeiran species as well as exotics, including massive rhododendrons. The home itself was very clean and cozy with all the comforts needed. "Loved the location and host at this property. A beautiful view from the terrace. Large home with plenty of space to spread out and walking distance to everything. Lots of space to park your car in the yard. My only suggestion for the owner is to perhaps purchase a heat pump or 2, so you aren't primarily reliant on the fireplace for heat in such a large home. :)"

"While the property is very nice and the common areas are very good. I was not expecting a hostel style kitchen. Kitchen though was well equipped and lots of space including designated cupboards for each of the 7 rooms. Our unit with private bath was clean but the single bed should be removed so that the double can be positioned properly in the room so the TV can be viewed straight on and the bed can be accessed by both occupants easily. "I'm a plane Spotter, so it was ideal for me, 30 minutes walk from Madeira airport, views over looking the airport, there is no heating or air conditioning in the bungalow, it's well equipped quite spacious, new like condition, considering how close it was to the runway aircraft noise wasn't much of a problem, not really any flights 9pm until 6 or 7am, From Neil "

"A beautiful villa in wonderful surroundings, well equipped and spacious. Dante and Rosa were wonderful hosts, providing us with home made cake, biscuits, bread etc and were extremely helpful. "The pictures show less than reality. Don’t doubt about this property cause it’s just perfect! And what about the host. In more than 30 rentals on those kind of websites, I’ve never seen an host that dedicated to his guests. Would go back again!"
