"Spacious and clean room. Check in was ok but bar and restaurant staff left a lot to be desired. No pay facility at bar. The roof top bar seemed to be just a balcony. Which was ok but not a rooftop bar as expected. Bar staff slow and left us standing there for some time although bar wasn’t busy. They got out order wrong and were so slow we couldn’t have the drinks we wanted. Breakfast was ok but there was nowhere for our group to sit and staff were unhelpful and told us to ‘sit outside or squeeze on that table’. The member of staff did tell us eventually that we could sit in another area ‘if thats enough room for you ‘. When asked to fill milk jug which was empty, member of staff said that wasn’t their job. Not really the responses to make you feel relaxed and catered for at this price bracket or star rating. Nice hotel, staff not great behaviour."

"The bathroom was dirty, the toilet seat wasn't on straight. Blood on the bed sheet. Staff were not interested and unhelpful. We had to pay to park at the hotel when we arrived. We thought we would try to spa and we also had to pay for that. We asked for towels in the spa and the staff just shrugged and said there wasn't any. The changing rooms were dirty and no lockers to put valuables. The steam room was set at the temperature of the sun and the sauna wasn't on "

"The location of the hotel is perfect and the staff amazing. Food is also delicious. The only downside with the room, is that there were no curtains only blinds, so as soon as the sun comes up sleeping becomes difficult. Fine for anyone who's an early riser but not for those who like a lay in. Also the shower is electric with very poor flow rate. Would stay again if these issues were resolved "

"The hotel was ideal for our weekend attending the schools netball national finals. The bar staff were all so helpful and very friendly. The hotel is currently being refurbished so a little messy but I’m sure it’s going to benefit once completed."

"Had an incredibly comfortable and peaceful stay in a very pleasant well equipped room. Delicious bed, good shower and plenty of hot water. No noise from the street despite it being a busy central area near everything one could need. Foyer, bar and public areas were welcoming and stylish. Staff incredibly helpful. "

"Great hotel for a great price. Dog friendly but if you don't have dogs, don't worry, there is absolutely no sign dogs have ever been in the rooms, no lingering dog smells etc. I've stayed here twice and on the second stay was in a room facing the road. I'm a light sleeper but wasn't woken by the traffic at all. There's no Aircon in the rooms but you are provided with a fan so be aware if you run hot. Facilities are brilliant and the free cake each afternoon is a nice added extra. Staff are all lovely and happy to help with anything. Breakfast is very nice but be aware that there's no full English but you do get eggs, beans and bacon. Location is good and just a short drive from Derwent dam and Castleton. Would highly recommend this place and will be visiting again myself. "
