"This hotel is really just several rooms for rent without anyone onsite. Rooms do not have air conditioning, and amenities are sparse. The location is close to the heart of town but the alley pretty noisy with crowds at night and delivery trucks morning. "

"Staff was very accommodating. Room was comfy and warm. Not updated to look modern but instead retains its ambience. Breakfast was very nice. Walking distance to central Oxford. Would stay here again in a heartbeat."

"Never could figure out how to get into the bar/restaurant below -- I'm not sure it was even open? So we never saw any other people/staff. But the room was very nice and comfortable. There are a lot of stairs to get to the rooms, so be prepared for that."

"Absolutely beautiful hotel, the novelty of it being the old prison added to the amazing stay.
Very clean, bed was so comfortable and nice big spacious rooms"
"Very cute boutique hotel. Friendly staff. Easily walkable in to central old Oxford. The restaurant was very good - great breakfast included in the rom rate. Oven baked pizza made fresh from scratch for dinner. "
"I had a day meeting down Norham Gardens and Summerton is walkable. This is a hotel that is high spec in many ways but is cheap because there are no extras like breakfast. I like Gail's and there is one across the road for baked eggs then walk it off:) Since I just want a comfortable night's sleep this is the perfect place for me and I returned..."
"Wow! What can I say we stayed in the suite and I don’t think we will ever top this. It was uniquely beautiful. Everything down to the beautiful 4 poster bed, the most stunning bathroom with 2 baths side by side, with a tv, to the beautiful court yard we had to sit outside. I cannot fault this room it’s blown our expectations and I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone. We have never stayed in a hotel room so much.
The location was also perfect, being a stone throw away from the main high street.
We will definitely be back "
