"The hotel has a very comfortable and pleasant atmosphere - the rooms of various sizes are all stylish and the bar / restaurant was good and seemed popular with local residents (good sign). Good value for money."

Lovely little town in the Borders. Great community feel, i wandered out of town a bit one night and watched the local rugby practice.

Most the shops were closed, but I guess the rugby took priority and some businesses thought it pointless opening?

Pavements were unbelievably hazardous with ice that couldn't be seen with the naked eye... Council should have gritted given the named storm hardly being unexpected...
"Lovely old hotel in Kelso. Comfortable room with good facilities. A little tired in places, but perfectly acceptable for us. Great staff team, friendly and helpful, and a wonderful breakfast to set you up for the day"
"From the moment I arrived the hosts could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The location is both quiet and yet convenient for local attractions. The rooms were spacious, light and airy. The breakfast was magnificent with freshly cooked local produce - some home grown. There is plenty of information provided regarding local sights and restaurants. Douglas was more than will to help and advice at any time.
If I ever return to the area again I would certainly stay here again without any hesitation."
"Spent lovely couple of nights at Peebles hydro - clean ,staff were friendly only criticism was of the bar stock - missing some basics spurts and mixers "
"We had a very warm informative welcome. The room was at the back which helped it be quieter when the private parties could be loud when they were on in the function room. It looks as if some updating is happening and needs new window frames and closers. The bed was comfy. Hospitality tray was great. In the bar the staff were great. You were served quickly and they kept the bar tidy. They were very friendly. We had bar sharing plate snack which was amazing. We didn’t have breakfast as not breakfast eaters so can’t comment about that.
We loved our stay and everything about the hotel."
