Hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly. However, it was a very old hotel and the breakfast was not good at all. It’s good to stay a night but not for a week as we did. Charling village but no good restaurant nearby.

Overall, a lovely place to stay and very helpful owner/manager. 4 stars rather than 5 because water flow to top storey bathroom was poor at times (old building) and shower door didn't close properly (new fitting).

Amazing experience, great friendly staff, clean comfy room. Lovely breakfast. Only criticism would be no evening meals. Everywhere seemed to be fully booked probably because there isn't many places to go for evening meals. The hotel would benefit from providing guests with the option of evening meal, even if they asked guests to pre order to cut down on waste. Also so they kitchen could be closed if no one booked.

We enjoyed our stay at the Royal Hotel. Though the hike up to the third floor was a bit of a challenge with suitcases, the room was comfortable as was the bed. Breakfast downstairs was very nice. We would stay here again in the future!
