McCloud is a small, relatively quiet town that has not been gentrified. There a few good restaurants and bars and coffee shops that are unpretentious and serve relatively high quality food and drinks. Outdoor options abound all around.

The cutest hotel! The owners were so friendly. The room was adorable and spacious. The community area was lovely to hang out in by the fireplace and visit with other guests and play games at night.

Caleb is an excellent host. The mountain House is perfectly appointed for extended stays. McCloud is a magical place sitting at the base of Mt Shasta’s south flank. You won’t get a better view of Mt Shasta anywhere else in the vicinity of the mountain. The mountain is in full view. Clean water in abundance and fresh air all around!
Go to the cafe by the kyaks on Quincy St. They have great coffees!
