「This was a lovely B and B- very quiet, comfortable and friendly. Lorna was a lovely host and breakfast was very good. Take a 10 minute walk down the road to Grapes Pub for great food and a pint- super dog friendly so it was great to see all the puppers 」
「The room was far from the lobby, and there were many stairs, so it was difficult to carry my luggage. It was nice to have a drink served when my friend visit me in the lobby.」
「Staff members are so friendly and nice, tasty full Scottish breakfast , and beautiful neighborhood for walking. Doors and bathroom are needed to handle with some tips, but still good. 」
「Very relaxed and pleasant place, Jeff and Karen were super friendly and approachable when needed. the breakfast was lovely and would definitely recommend!」
「Due to my mistake when booking, we had not realized that all rooms weren't en-suite. This is aajor factor for us as my husband is disabled. The receptionist on duty 6/8/25 around 14:30, was so helpful and managed to get us sorted.
The rooms were lovely and clean as were towels and bedding.」
"We chose this lodge hotel because all the other hotels nearer to Edinburgh was too expensive.
But the location wasn’t convenient for those who don’t have a car. The first night, because it was Sunday, the closest train station’s train ended very early, and we had to use the farther station, Livingston South, instead of Livingston North. We asked the hotel to send a taxi to the station. It was raining and cold and we had to wait for a while.
The next morning, it was Monday, we walked to the closer train station, Livingston North, about 10min walk, and the train was nice and punctual.
So, if you use trains, be careful with the train schedule. Especially on weekends. On the way back to the hotel, we rented a car at Waverly station, it wasn’t that bad.
The room was small, but OK enough. The shower had no problem. Wifi was good.
