"It is quite astonishing that this establishment has received such a high volume of favorable evaluations. The state of cleanliness was unsatisfactory, and the room was permeated with a musty odor, which was subsequently determined to be the result of a ceiling leak that had saturated a pillow that had been placed in the wardrobe. Although breakfast was included in the room rate, the caliber of the food left much to be desired. While some members of the staff were cordial, others did not exactly...

"The hotel was located within a five minute walk from Maresias Beach. The area was quiet during the off season but nice. The staff weren't rude but also not very helpful. Our bathroom light was very finicky, it would only work when it wanted to, which was twice. They came to replace the bulb but it still wasn't working properly afterwards. Overall though, the hotel grounds are quite nice. The rooms could definitely use a better layout and the floors needed cleaning. It was definitely not a bad...

"Basic, friendly, and comfortable with a nice breakfast offered. Close to and at the quiet end of the beach. Restaurants just a 10 minute walk away. Street sign is missing so it took a little bit longer time to find the location as we were walking and didn't have a GPS."

"I would highly recommend Toca Da Praia. The Pousada is cute and comfortable with an amazing pool/common area and delicious breakfast. The staff are super friendly and accommodating as well. I was so impressed with everything they provided."

"I am surprised this place is only 1 star, I would say it's a 3 star really. Being really picky but the telly in the room could of been bigger. I guess what should be included is a mosquito net, the mosquitoes on this island are savage. I had bites on bites. I was bathing in mosquito repellent and still was getting bitten."

"Not enough pillows and bedding. Only gave 1 pillow per person. Overall a good stay, however we had to take the stairs from 3rd floor to our unit on the 6th which was slightly inconvenient."
