"Not a bad hotel. Amenities are quite nice; taller mini fridge, balcony, microwave, Keurig, TV with a laminated channel list (all channels seemed to work). It was fairly clean. Check in is in a different building (Quality Inn), but pool and food are same building. Towels seem nice. Breakfast had scrambled egg, meat patty, pancakes, breads, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, muffins. Downsides were the toilet seat was broken, room keys were a bit old so it took a few tries to get doors opened. Parking is at a fee - around $6-7, which isn’t much but I was under the impression it’d be included. Door didn’t close by itself, had to pull/push it shut."

Strata Hotel

Strata Hotel

8/10 Good
"Easy access from the 401 although heading south-east from the parking lot can be a bit tricky. Spanking clean lobby and clean large rooms. The exterior, with a string of cheap stores on the ground level belies the quality inside. Staff was pleasant and informative; a great contrast with the staff at another and much more expensive Kingston hotel we had stayed in a few weeks before. When we first went to our room we found it to be freezing. The thermostat had been set far too low. Had to reset thermostat and go elsewhere while room warmed. Biggest drawback is no free breakfast. The price of breakfast in a restaurant should be mentally added to the cost of the room. Despite that we liked the Strata; it will be our hotel of choice the next time we are in Kingston."

"The resort was good overall, nice location and the staff made a genuine effort to keep the property clean and maintained. The rooms were clean, but there was a noticeable musty smell that could be improved. Also, the staff at the Shipman Bar were not particularly welcoming or friendly, which took away from the overall experience.."
