Secrets Puerto Los Cabos - Adults Only - All Inclusive

6/10 Okay

"We had a swim out pool room and it was ok, nothing special. Our mini fridge had warm drinks and when we called to have cold drinks brought to us they brought warm drinks again. We asked for a bucket of ice and they said ok 2 min and 24 hours later we still had warm drinks and no ice. We would have loved to enjoy some cold drinks in our pool but that didn’t happen. Room service was slow to pick up old dishes and they sat in the cubby making it very stinky. The drinks at the main pool were horrible and so was the service with the exception of Sonia. We were there 6 days and she was the only notable server that was personable and attentive. The best service we received was from Cruz I think he was a bellman. He was so accommodating and very professional. We really enjoyed the Barracuda bar as well as the bartenders both of them were outstanding. Food options were not great nor was the taste with the exception of Market Cafe for breakfast. We probably won’t return it wasn’t worth what we paid."

"The staff was amazing especially Brissia. She made the stay extra special. She made out on property dinner reservations, coordinated travel for off property excursion and recommended the best dinner restaurant. She went above and beyond by providing us access to the Sky Lounge on the last night."

Hotel Riu Santa Fe - All Inclusive

"Could be a beautiful resort however the food is slightly better than ok. Friendly pool staff however most others were slightly better than non-existent. Two huge fights broke out between fully grown men, including their wives, and almost no staff were present to deal with it. The fights were clearly a result of severe intoxication and over serving. It’s lucky no one got seriously hurt. This occurred within an hour of showing up at the resort. Not only did no one stop these, on the first occasion, the staff let the severely intoxicated man back into the swim up bar pool to continue drinking and partying. It took my wife and I two days to overcome what had occurred and to try to enjoy the remainder of our holiday. We spent a lot of money on this resort and were not impressed. Had our towels and my wife’s sunglasses stolen also within the first two hours during the first brawl. My wife asked the front desk staff why they would let the man continue drinking and back into the pool, she was told that people pay money to be there and they ca basically do whatever they want."

"Overall we really enjoyed our stay! The property was clean, the sushi at the pool was incredible, and the drinks were great. We missed a more personalized experience like we've had at other Cabo hotels...getting to know the staff and having them greet us by name, treats left for the kids in the room, and the warm welcome & farewell. It was a bigger property than we're used to, so that could be some of the reason it lacks a more intimate approach. The interior could use a bit of updating and the pool area seemed cramped. Our kids loved the ocean cove and looking for creatures by the rocks, so having lounge chairs closer to that direction would be so nice! While the beach is deemed swimmable, there are still big waves and heavy undertow at times. We would recommend it to families looking for an affordable vacation in Cabo in comparison to rates of other hotels!"
