Great location in Niigata’s geisha district - who knew? Accommodation spectacular. Bathroom could use improved lighting. Other than that, beautiful accommodation with amazing staff.

Our stay at the Ryokan Tsuchi to Ito was nothing short of a dream. The ryokan itself is beautiful with gorgeous details and comfort in every corner. The host, Kimi, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for, and provided wonderful recommendations as we spent our days exploring Nagano. The front desk agents were super kind and helpful. They both spoke English. We needed that. Bountiful and delicious dinner and breakfast buffets were included. Our room was amazingly well appointed and large. The king bed was beyond adequate. It was two full sized beds bound together. We hope to return to this property some day.

The room was spotless and comfortable. The staff was amazing! Very. Courteous and helpful the moment you arrive. The station is a within walking distance which is helpful if in a rush.

Private retreat nestled in the woods of Karuizawa! Wonderful host - very friendly and attentive. Our visit in June was right before their hydrangeas blossomed….i can imagine it would have been even more magical!

Beautiful 5-star hotel with excellent staff and comfortable rooms. The breakfast buffet was outstanding--definitely worth the money! Location is perfect--right outside of Nagano station (5 mins from train to hotel lobby). I'll stay here again for sure!

The Dormy Inn in Nagano was an excellent value! The location is first rate - less than 10 minutes walking from Nagano Station. The Inn has wonderful amenities - an indoor/outdoor onsen. This stop in our trip was a favorite, small quaint city. Lots to do, could walk everywhere, no problem. will definitely go back to Matsumoto. The hotel was centeralized, clean, friendly, just what a traveler looks for at day's end.

It really is a traditional Japanese hotel and experience and loved the friendly and helpful staff, and the location is just a short 10 min scenic stroll across the river to the bus/train station. Coin laundry washer was free and dryer was 100 yen for 20minutes. That was great. it was great to have free ice cream after going to the onsen! Location is very convenient and near shopping and the castle.

This is a lovely new hotel, very helpful friendly staff and one of the very best Onsens we’ve experienced in Japan (this is my third trip). Really fantastic- new, clean, three pools- outstanding. The hotel is 35 minutes S of Hakuba by car and an hour by shuttle bus, and the shuttle only runs to and from once per day so without a car you don’t have many options. Omachi, the nearest town is a fairly long walk. Recommend having a rental car if you stay here.
