"Words cannot convey how beautiful both Murakami and the family who own this apartment are!!! Communication before arrival was prompt and Taiko even dropped any plans to pick me up at the local station saving me money on further transport. Over the 2 week period i stayed here this family made sure i was fed and clothes were cleaned, inviting friends and family around for both food and Karaoke has been hospitality i never knew was possible. "I stayed at the JAL for 8 nights and was happy with the service. The location is great as it is a short walk to Zenkoji Temple, the Prefectural Museum and also to Nagano JR Station. Nagano was a fascinating city to visit and the JAL was situated in a good location for finding amenities such as shopping and food. I love to walk and I really enjoyed exploring the area around the hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Although my room was rather crowded with 3 beds, it was kept clean and well stocked. My only complaint was that the breakfast for a Westerner was very limited and got predictable very quickly. The food was very good, presented well and tasted fine but after 8 breakfasts eating the same things I was ready for a change."

APA Hotel & Resort Niigata Ekimae Odori

"APA is still a business hotel so the room size is going to be small. Good thing is that it is luxurious in terms of presentation so in a way you will feel the money is well spent. As per APA standard, all the amenities, switches and luggage space (under the bed) is all well planned. Just having the room to sleep this is more than enough. Key thing to note is that the lift will be full of people from 15 minutes before and after the check out time at 10am so don't leave it too late to check out. The other nice amenity is the public baths. Enjoy the warm 40 degree C water to ease your tired muscles after a day of walking and exploring. I don't know I miss it until I got to APA Ueno where it does not have a public bath so enjoy it while you can. Personally I have skipped the breakfast at APA. It is not expensive but after experiencing the other APA's breakfast, I think I can do better at the nearby Cafe."

"We loved this hotel. It’s amazingly close to the castle and within walking distance of a delicious Hoto Moto and 711. It’s clean, quiet, we loved the bathroom, and the AC was freezing cold. When we needed help the front desk was amazing and helped with anything we needed. We will be back!"
