"We had such a lovely, warm welcome and the staff could not be more helpful. Inside, the hotel is clean and welcoming. The hotel is very conveniently positioned and about 10 or 15 minutes to the tram stop into Basel. The breakfast was absolutely first class - plenty of options and the rooms were great."

"Our stay was great. The apartment was a 5 minute walk to the train station and multiple grocery stores. It was a convenient place to stay while visiting Basel and Colmar. We enjoyed our visit and would definitely book again."
"A newly built apartment in pristine condition! The apartment is spacious and very well equipped - the washing machine was an added blessing as we’d been travelling for quite a few days. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was super clean and although we didn’t use the kitchen it was immaculate - we would gave if we had a longer stay. The apartment is located a short 10 min walk from a large shopping centre, and a great Italian restaurant (fast food chains also there) The supermarket was fantastic! We would definitely stay here again, and for a much longer stay! "

We loved the kitchen; the bedrooms had comfortable beds and linens as well as amazing storage for our things. The outdoor patio was a great place to unwind and relax after our drive. Check in and parking was easy. Communication and responses from the host were quick and helpful. The restaurant recommendations were amazing and also appreciated. Overall, would highly recommend this place for your stay."
"I highly recommend that everyone should look beyond the big expensive city of Basel and look into Germany for accommodations. Although this hotel had slightly outdated décor, one can see that this hotel, and it's staff, have a lot of pride in their work place, and they offer great service. My room was spotless, had all the necessities except for air conditioning but thankfully, it was a cool enough night that it wasn't necessary.
The hotel offered a plentiful and fresh breakfast buffet that was fit for a king. Everything was wonderful at the Carathotel. I really commend the staff that was very welcoming."
"We only stayed one day/night prior to boarding a Viking tour but would have enjoyed staying longer. The space more than met our needs (we were 2 couples). Beyond clean and the young man who came to check on the AC helped us get to a pharmacy and provided easy directions to the bus around the corner which took us within a few blocks of the cruise port.
