This was a great place to use as a base to visit several spots in the region. The room was very clean and met all our needs.

So, I was after a B&B for one night at a reasonable price. This provided that nicely. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was sound bed comfortable. It was not an issue but the bathroom is a bit old everything works, just old looking. The Restaurant served a delicious meal at reasonable price. And breakfast was lovely. Yes it’s not a 5 star hotel but for a B&B it was great.

If you want to stay at a hotel that has no reception checkin, you have to speak to someone by phone, no tea/coffee/kettle or curtains, no soap in the shower, no transport to train station and takes 2 hours (but its only 8miles)to get to the centre of Basel and no employees present after 9pm then this is the hotel for you.

We weren't feeling too well and after a 7-hour drive we wanted to rest in our room, right after check in. Unfortunately, that coincided with the meat "treatment" in the kitchen, involving someone bashing the meat repeatedly. It was not pleasant and clearly not conducive to some rest. I asked the cook and waitresses if was really necessary to carry out that task right after check-in time and the chef promised they would stop. Except they didn't really, and went back to hammer the meat after a 5-min hiatus for the next 40min. I don't recommend it.

Not really the most comfortable hotel

The hotel itself is quite charming. The room was freezing cold on arrival and heating off until the morning, and did not really heat up until the end of the stay (not speaking about having 24°... but there was barely 18°). Water in the shower not warm enough either. After 2 days we left completely frozen. The hotel was very clean, just the equipment a bit outdated. The beds are extremely uncomfortable and the blankets are a size and thickness of a napkin. Don't expect to sleep well :-( The breakfast was very poor, they did not replenish the buffet, no more juice and most ham&cheese if you come after 9. The hotel also does not respond to any messages you send them, so better call or hope that they're expecting you. One positive point: they don't make a fuzz if you come with a dog, they don't charge crazy fees etc.

Die „Tanne“ in Fischingen war in früheren Zeiten bekannt als sehr gutes Restaurant mit sehr leckeren Gerichten, deren Preise deswegen auch etwas höher waren. Inzwischen hat er Eigentümer gewechselt… es gibt deutsche und türkische Gerichte, wobei es nach Fett „duftet“… wir sind woanders zum Essen hingegangen…

Nicht meine Empfehlung

Uns wurde gesagt, Checkin ab 14 00 möglich. Realität: um 15:00 Uhr war noch niemand da. Telefon führte zu Musik… Das eine Einzelzimmer war ohne Vorhang, sehr heiss, und die Storen nicht mehr vorhanden… Ich musste das Zimmer wechseln. Dort war das WC nicht i.o. (Wasser lief ständig). Der Empfang war eher unfreundlich. Das Essen im Garten war gut und sehr gemütlich.

Wie waren nur auf der Durchreise und haben hier übernachtet und gefrühstückt. Zimmer sah schön aus, Dusche ist in die Jahre gekommen und etwas schimmlig an mehreren Orten. Ansonsten für den Preis ein gutes Hotel. Frühstück war ganz okay

Das Hotel eignet sich gut, wenn man auf der Durchreise in die Schweiz und weiter nach Italien möchte, da die Autobahnanbindung gut ist. Das Abendessen im Restaurant sowie das Frühstücksbuffet am Morgen sind gut.

Reicht für einen Zwischenstopp

Die meisten Steckdosen im Zimmer waren defekt. Morgens gab es irgendwelche unangenehmen Geräusche durch eine Lüftung oder ähnliches. Der Geruch der Küche zog ins Treppenhaus und ins Zimmer. Wer relativ spät zum Frühstück kommt hat Pech. Es wird nicht nachgelegt. Aber die Betten waren gut 😬 Für eine Nacht OK.

Pour une nuit de passage, je recommande !

Je suis passée une nuit, pour m’arrêter sur la route d’un long voyage. Excellent rapport qualité prix, bonne situation, restaurant de très bonne qualité et staff très gentil. La chambre était fort petite, donc le confort un peu limité.

Für mich zum Übernachten ungeeignet

Zimmer (unterm Dach) wurde irgendwann einmal lieblos und auf günstigste Weise renoviert. Die Möbel sind teilweise billigster Ikea/Roller Pressspan Style, zusammengestückelt und weisen schon diverse Gebrauchsspuren auf. Jegliche Türgriffe (Zimmer-und Badetür) sind lose. An der Decke hängt als Hauptlicht eine Leninlampe (Glühbirne). Das teilweise mitgestrichene SAT Kabel kommt oben in der Ecke aus der Wand und hängt lieblos quer über die Wand rüber . Beim Malen wurde alles mitgestrichen, was im Wege war. Schmutzige Fingerabdrücke an der Wand bei einer Dosenabdeckung tun ihr übriges. Über die Holzdecke wurde mal drüber gestrichen aber naja, die alte, braune Farbe (wie Original im Bad) schimmert noch durch. Das Badezimmer wurde hingegen nicht renoviert. Die Verfugung in der Dusche war dementsprechend in die Jahre gekommen und nicht mehr ansehnlich (um es mal nett auszudrücken). Der weiße Toilettendeckel auf brauner Schüssel tat sein übriges. Bis auf den schwarzen Fugenschimmel in der Dusche war das Bad sauber, Es könnte aber mal an vielen Stellen der Kalk entfernt werden. Es gibt einen SAT Empfänger und einen TV. Beim Fernseher war bei genauerem hinsehen die Frontblende zu Hälfte bereits offen und rausgebrochen. Über die Fernsteuerung ging gar nichts. An der Seite konnte man ihn einschalten, dass war es aber schon. Dem Ton war nur ein Brummen zu entlocken. Das Teil ist definitiv kaputt. Einzig und allein das Bett scheint in Ordnung und sauber zu sein.

Just 'okay', nothing special

We stayed for just 1 night, and found the hotel room to be okay. The room was a little smaller than I expected, it had sloped roofs in both the bedroom and the bathroom and I accidentally bumped my head twice. The room and bathroom both just felt a little tired (e.g. the shower was not very strong, my husband wanted an extra pillow and took one out the wardrobe and it was a little stained).
