"Check-in was quick and staff was able to assist me even with my lack of Japanese. The welcome drink and cheesecake while waiting for the room key was delicious. The view from the lobby was gorgeous as well. We reserved a “traditional” style room. The tatami mats and natural wood outdoor onsen/shower was such a unique experience. It was so relaxing to soak in the onsen while overlooking the ocean and listening to the waves crashing below. The dinner and breakfasts were to die for and gave me new insight on Japan’s exquisite cuisine. I can’t wait to stay again. :)"

"Great place for families visiting Shimoda and Izu Peninsula. Definitely a hotel catering to Japanese tourists, but with a little Japanese and respect the staff is very friendly and works with you. Some of the staff spoke some English. Bathhouse, arcade, and hotel amenities were great. Walking distance to everything downtown and easy spot to drive to other locations. Would definitely stay here again with family on vacation. "
